This cartoon cat is made from simple shapes: a round head, two triangle ears and a pear shaped body. Watch each step being drawn in pencil, then copy it on your own paper. It works for kids from about age 5 and for adult beginners too.
Copy the dark lines in each step. The grey lines are the parts you already drew.
Start in the upper part of your page, because the body goes below. Draw a wide, round head. Let the bottom bulge out a little on each side for puffy cheeks. Press lightly so you can fix it later.

On top of the head, draw two tall triangle ears with slightly curved sides. Leave some space between them. Inside each ear, draw a smaller triangle.

Draw two big ovals in the middle of the face, with a gap between them. Color them in dark, but leave a small white circle near the top of each one for the shine. Between and a little below the eyes, draw a tiny nose shaped like a heart.

Draw a short line down from the nose, then a curvy mouth like a small letter w. On each cheek, draw three thin whiskers that fan out. Add three short stripes on the forehead.

Under the head, draw a body that is narrow at the top and wide at the bottom, like a pear. Inside it, draw a long oval for the tummy.

Draw two front legs going down over the tummy, with a round paw at the bottom of each and two small toe lines. Draw a rounded back leg and a long foot on each side. Add a long tail curling up on the right, then a few stripes on the tail and the sides.

Use orange for the head, ears, body, legs and tail. Color the tummy and paws cream, the inside of the ears and the nose pink, and keep the eyes dark. Press a little harder on the stripes to make them darker.

Leave a space between the ears so the head looks round, not pointy.
Draw each whisker with one quick, light line.
Try grey, black or white fur, or add spots instead of stripes.
Trace your drawing with a darker pencil or a black pen so it stands out after coloring.
Put down the orange first, then add darker orange for the stripes.
