Draw the shell
In the middle of your page, draw a big dome, like half a circle. Draw a flat line across the bottom. Leave some space on the right for the head. Press lightly so you can fix it later.
▶ Watch this stepThis cartoon sea turtle starts with a dome shell, then you add the head, face, flippers and a shell pattern with water around it. Watch each step being drawn in pencil, then copy it on your own paper. It works for kids from about age 5 and for adult beginners too.
Copy the dark lines in each step. The grey lines are the parts you already drew.

On the head, draw a round eye with a white shine, a pink oval for the cheek and a happy smile at the front.

Under the front of the shell, draw a big flat flipper shaped like a long leaf, pointing back. Under the back, draw a smaller flipper. On the left, add a small pointy tail.

In the middle of the shell, draw a big six sided shape with short lines from its corners out to the edge. Draw a few bubbles near the head and some wavy lines under the turtle for the sea.
▶ Watch this step
Color the shell teal and the six sided shape light teal. Color the head, neck, flippers and tail light green and the shell edge yellow. Color the cheek pink and the bubbles light blue.

Flippers are flat and long. Make them look like big leaves.
The front flipper is bigger than the back one. This makes the turtle look like it is swimming.
Draw the bubbles getting smaller as they float up.
Trace your drawing with a darker pencil or a black pen so it stands out after coloring.
Draw a small fish, a starfish or some seaweed around your sea turtle.
