Draw the head
Start in the upper part of your page, because the body goes below. Draw a big circle for the head. Press lightly so you can fix it later.
▶ Watch this stepThis cartoon duck is made from two simple shapes: a big circle for the head and a wide oval for the body. Then you add a flat bill, wings and feet. Watch each step being drawn in pencil, then copy it on your own paper. It works for kids from about age 4 and for adult beginners too.
Copy the dark lines in each step. The grey lines are the parts you already drew.

Under the head, draw a wide oval for the body. It should be a little wider than the head. Let the head overlap the top of the oval.
▶ Watch this step
In the upper half of the head, draw two round eyes with a gap between them. Color them dark and leave a tiny white dot for the shine. Add a small pink oval on each side of the face for the cheeks.
▶ Watch this step
Under the eyes, draw a wide, flat oval for the bill. It can stick out a little past the eyes on both sides. Draw a curved line across the middle for the mouth.
▶ Watch this step
On each side of the body, draw a round wing. Make the bottom of each wing a little wavy, with two or three small points, so it looks like feathers.
▶ Watch this step
At the bottom of the body, draw two wide, flat feet with three round toes each. On top of the head, draw a little curl of hair. Add a small wavy line on the tummy for soft feathers.
▶ Watch this step
Color the head and body yellow and the wings a deeper yellow. Color the bill and feet orange and the cheeks pink. Keep the eyes dark.
▶ Watch this stepKeep your first lines soft, then press harder once you like the shape.
A big head and a small body makes the duck look like a baby duckling.
A duck bill is wide and flat. Do not make it pointy.
Draw one wing, then the other wing the same size on the other side.
Trace your drawing with a darker pencil or a black pen so it stands out after coloring.
Add a little water line under the body and your duck becomes a bath toy.

Colour your cartoon duck in, or keep practising with more ideas to copy.
Yes. It is one of the easiest animals to draw because it is made of a circle and an oval. Most children from about age 4 can follow it.
Draw a wide, flat oval under the eyes, then a curved line across the middle for the mouth.
Yellow, orange and pink. A darker yellow for the wings is nice but not needed.
Yes. This duck already looks like a duckling. Make the body a bit smaller and the eyes a bit bigger for an even younger look.
