Add the ears and eye patches
Draw a small round ear low on each side of the head. Then draw a dark oval around where each eye will go.

Draw the eyes and nose
Inside each dark patch, draw a round eye with a white shine. Add a small dark nose and a smile.

Draw the tall body
Under the head, draw a tall body standing up straight, with a light oval on the tummy.

Add the arms
Draw two small arms bent in front of the chest, like the meerkat is on lookout.

Draw two feet at the bottom and a long thin tail curving out on the right.

Color your meerkat
Light brown for the fur, cream for the tummy and face, and dark brown for the eye patches, ears, nose and tail tip.

Draw light first
Keep your first lines soft, then press harder once you like the shape.

Stand tall
Make the body tall and straight. Meerkats stand up on their back legs to look around.

Eye patches
Draw dark ovals around the eyes first, then put the eyes inside.

Bent arms
Keep the arms small and bent in front of the chest.

Go over the final lines
Trace your drawing with a darker pencil or a black pen so it stands out after coloring.
