This cartoon dolphin starts with one long curved line for the body, then you add the face, tail, fins and water. Watch each step being drawn in pencil, then copy it on your own paper. It works for kids from about age 6 and for adult beginners too.
Copy the dark lines in each step. The grey lines are the parts you already drew.
Draw a long body that curves up like a rainbow. Make the right end big and round for the head, with a short, round beak sticking out. Make the left end thin, because the tail goes there. Press lightly so you can fix it later.

Near the head, draw a round eye. Color it dark and leave a small white dot for the shine. Draw a long smile along the bottom of the beak and a small pink oval under the eye for the cheek.

At the thin end of the body, draw the tail. It has two wide, pointy flukes, one going left and one going down.

On top of the back, draw a curved fin that points towards the tail. Under the middle of the body, draw a small flipper pointing down and back.

Draw a curved line along the bottom of the body, from the beak to the tail, to show the light belly. Add a tiny curved line on top of the head for the blowhole.

Under the dolphin, draw a wavy line for the sea. Add three small drops of water splashing up around the dolphin.

Color the body, tail and fins blue and the belly very light blue. Color the sea and drops light blue and the cheek pink. Keep the eye dark.

Try to draw the top of the body in one smooth movement, like drawing a rainbow.
The back fin should lean towards the tail, so the dolphin looks fast.
Press a little harder with the blue on the top of the body and softer near the belly.
Trace your drawing with a darker pencil or a black pen so it stands out after coloring.
Draw a second smaller dolphin next to the first one for a mom and baby.
