What we collect
Information you give us
If you email us, we keep your message and your email address so we can reply. If you sign up for our email list, we keep the address you gave us until you unsubscribe.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our host records basic technical information when a page loads: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time. This is used to keep the site running and to look into problems.
Likes
When you like a drawing, two things happen. The like count on that drawing goes up by one on our server, and your browser remembers which drawings you liked so the hearts still look right when you come back. The record in your browser stays on your device and is not sent to us. The like count itself is just a number and is not linked to you.
Cookies and similar technology
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We and the services below use them to count visits and to show ads. You can delete cookies or block them in your browser settings. If you block them, the site still works, but your likes will stop being remembered.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and how they arrive. It collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and referral source. We use it in aggregate and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.
You can stop Google Analytics from collecting your data with Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
Advertising
We show ads through Google AdSense and its partners. These vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
Google uses advertising cookies to serve ads across the web. You can turn off personalised advertising in Google Ad Settings, and you can opt out of personalised advertising from other participating vendors at aboutads.info. Turning personalisation off does not remove ads, it only makes them less specific to you.
We do not control what these third parties collect and we do not have access to their cookies. Their own privacy policies apply to that data.
Email list
If you subscribe, we use your address to send occasional updates about new drawings. We do not sell or rent it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed.
Children
Many of our drawings are made for children, but this site is written for the adult or older reader choosing them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Downloads
Downloading a drawing does not require an account and we do not attach your identity to it. The download is a plain image file. Nothing is installed on your device.
Your choices
- Clear or block cookies in your browser at any time.
- Opt out of Google Analytics using the link above.
- Turn off personalised ads using the links above.
- Unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any email.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@abdcreatives.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights over your data, including under the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and privacy laws in several US states. We will honour those requests. Email us and tell us what you want.
How long we keep things
Server logs are kept for a short period by our host and then rotated out. Email you send us is kept as long as it is useful for the conversation. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
Links to other sites
Some pages link out to other websites. Once you follow a link, that site’s privacy policy applies, not ours.
Changes to this policy
If we start using a new service, or change how we handle data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Substantial changes will be flagged on the site.
